DOIN’ IT OUR WAY

We can't wait to celebrate with all of you ... but for us this wedding is for us, about us, in a place that speaks to us ... a celebration of the powerful love we share.

We've been growing together for years. Met in Vegas seven years ago ... shared an apartment ... had some great trips and adventures ... adopted our cat Luna ... then got engaged. Along the way, we've gotten better and better at helping each other, strengthening each other, loving each other.

Kristina’s POV

In 2016, I flew to Vegas from Florida for a job interview. While in Vegas, I was asked to attend a lunch meeting with a few of the managers who would be my counterparts; Lewis was one of them. I thought he was cute, funny, and a total F boi with all his “swipe left” tinder jokes lol

After landing the job, I relocated my life to Vegas and started working at the new gig right away. My co-workers were quick to inform me that Lewis was telling everyone in the office I was his “future wife”, and we were going to be the “Beyonce and Jay-Z of Social Media.” I rolled my eyes so hard and thought he was crazy! Little did I know he was manifesting! lol

Over time Lewis and I became good friends, and he was helpful to me as I settled into my new role as he had made the same exact move from FL. I’ll never forget the look on his face when I told him I had a boyfriend; the shear look of disappointment! Eventually, that relationship didn’t work out.

A few months go by, and Lew invited me to get dinner at a ramen spot in China Town. We sat at that restaurant chatting and laughing four hours, bonding over music, marketing, films, and life. He told me one of our fav artists (Marilyn Manson) was coming to concert, I got excited and slapped his leg “WE HAVE TO GO!” he took my cue, leaned in and kissed me. We’ve been inseparable ever since.

Lewis has a positive, kind-hearted, creative, funny, and generous spirit who truly cares about others around him, and that is what made me fall in love with him. He is 3,000% my better half and makes me a better person every single day.

It was then that I realized he, in fact, was not a F boi… just a huge nerd!

Lew’s POV

It was a Tuesday afternoon and we just got back from eating lavish and delicious meal at the extravagant delight known as Chipotle at Fashion Show Mall. During lunch we received a request to take this woman they interviewed to lunch…. well, we’re eating lunch now. “Take her anyways she hasn’t eaten and is probably starving”. While walking into the office, I noticed this attractive Latina sitting there, thinking nothing of it we went upstairs to gather the group. Then they told me that a women named Kristina was downstairs.

We can get guess who we were taking to lunch.

The fast version is, Lewis ate 2 lunches that day. 1 full Chipotle bowl and 1 larger Chicken & Waffle meal. Probably didn’t eat for a week after that. Not sure if I was trying to just be nice or impress her? Def wasn’t impressing her but… maybe deep down I was (who the hell would be impressed by that?!)

From there we kept in touch, what I recognized was she was almost just like me. Making the journey from Florida, not knowing a single person in Vegas and I at least wanted to lend a hand in being nice, provide any assistance or guidance I can to a fellow Floridian (drink lots of water, no mosquitos).

Now I would be lying if I didn’t think she was attractive, intelligent and … attractive. I may or may not have joked that we would end up together prior to her arrival which was probably a red flag for HR but tomato to tomato. When you know…

When she was finally on the team though, we became friends, and I didn’t have any intention of things otherwise. I’m a decent person …. come on now… plus she did tell me she had a BF.

But I will say though I really did admire her from afar. She was awesome. Liked the same taste in music, worked in the same industry, passionate about the same things. What more couldn’t you want in someone?

One night I was out running my 13th mile on a Tuesday and invited her to get Ramen. We had a great time, we laughed and talked. I would say there was something there until this one moment where she put her hand on my leg and time froze. What do I do? Do I laugh it off? Do I kiss her?

(Sorry should mention right before that she did tell me she was recently on the market again)

Up until this point I was never good at reading the signs or interpreting when women were flirting with me, second guessed myself a lot on if or if I shouldn’t make a move… but something in that moment told me otherwise. I. Just. Leaned. In. And. Kissed. Her.

Luckily enough… she kissed me back. That’s a moment I’ll never forget and from that single moment my life changed in more ways than I could have imagined.

(Should also add she was laughing and WAS NOT trying to make a move… oops.)

What I found that day wasn’t just someone who had very similar interests and a background. I found someone that is constantly teaching me new things, how to be a better person and someone that I can’t imagine a single day without. Through the hard times and the best and through the times that are just weird, why not experience them with someone who just makes it better?

I’ve been fortunate enough to find that person and I’m thankful each day and while I feel that while we can control our destiny to some extent… there are moments in life that the cosmos just works in a way that could be destiny.

Have no doubt this is it.
